Hello to our new blog! 👋
Take a look around and make yourself at home. This is the new face of the Cucumber blog.
As part of a bigger project, we've begun to migrate our site off of Jekyll, running on Heroku, to Squarespace. The first wave of changes were to the homepage as well as events, so if you've noticed a change, now you know why!
On and off over the past month, I've been working on the second wave of changes: migrating our blog. The words you're reading now are hosted on the Ghost platform and we're quite happy with this new change. Ghost is an open source project, have a nice web editor for posts (which is great if you don't want to write Markdown, though you can do that in the editor too if you'd like), options to self-host or have them do it, and they have a support team that's been a pleasure to work with. Check them out if you're unfamiliar.
One feature I'd like to draw your attention to is the search in the upper right-hand corner. If you click on the magnifying glass, you'll be presented with a search field as well as all of our tags and authors to make searching and filtering easy. If you're interested in a particular topic, clicking on its tag will take you to a page with all the posts with that tag. If you want to go through all of our podcasts, there's a tag for that.
Let us know what you think. If there are things that aren't working quite right, let us know in a comment below.
One last thing
Before we wrap up, we'd like to extend an offer to all who may be interested: Write for us! If you've already written with us, we encourage you to come and write some more and if you're new, welcome. We're open to all sorts of topics not strictly ones about Cucumber/BDD. Is there a process or a neat trick you've got to make folk's lives easier in their testing/development work? Perhaps you've got a story about your team's journey and embrace of BDD you'd like to share?
For folks who had written for us before, head over to our admin page to do a password reset and reactivate your accounts. If you have any trouble, let myself or someone else on the team know.
For folks who are new to the Cucumber writers team, send an email to [email protected] and let us know what you'd like to write about. We'll get you set up with an account and you can get going.
Thanks, welcome, and we hope you enjoy our new digs!
